The Lake District

I think it is nigh on impossible to walk about the Lake District and expect to reach your destination in any sort of reasonable time if you have a camera in your hand. Virtually everywhere there is a landscape to stop and capture, whether it is towering mountains; rolling fells; plummeting waterfalls; glassy lakes or tarns, quarries or just the rugged landscape. From chocolate box covers to dramatic Old Testament cloud formations, stunning sun rises or sunsets, the Lake District has them all and in abundance.

I was fortunate to be able to spend 10 days at Wastwater and although I planned and photographed every day I was never ever near to scratching the surface of what was on offer. You could spend a lifetime in the here and always be discovering.

I anxiously await an opportunity to return.
